**Meet Emmy Lou**

Emmy Lou is a sweet 7-year-old (DOB 1/2/29), 24-pound little girl who is looking for the forever family meant just for her.

She is microchipped, spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and has had a dental cleaning. Emmy Lou does have a low-grade 2 heart murmur, but it does not require medication at this time.

She can be slow to trust, likely due to her previous home situation. What she needs most is a patient, gentle, loving family willing to give her the time and reassurance she deserves. Over the past couple of weeks, Emmy Lou has started lying close to her foster mom for belly rubs and back scratches, and she is beginning to play with dog toys.

She loves running in the backyard with the other dogs in her foster home and would likely do very well with another friendly dog. She also loves to go “bye-bye” and enjoys being included in daily life.

Emmy Lou is currently working on leash training and potty training and is doing very well. She is a smart little girl and is already learning commands like sit and stay. She has picked them up quickly and continues to make wonderful progress.

Emmy Lou will make a loyal companion and a beautiful addition to the right family. She is waiting for someone who will offer her patience, love, affection, and the safe home she truly deserves.
